Abstract
The electron density at the nucleus, rho(0), and the interelectronic d istance (intracule) density at the coalescence point, h(0), for two el ectron atoms, which play an important role in the description of the r elativistic corrections to the ground state energy, are studied. Lower and upper bounds to these quantities are found analytically. The qual ity of the bounds is analyzed within the Hartree-Fock framework, for r ho(0), and by means of wave functions of Hylleraas-type for h(0).
