Abstract
The results of laboratory experiments on reduction of NOx in the oxyge n free gas mixture NO2:NO:N-2 simulating exhaust gas, by means of puls ed and de streamer corona discharges generated in a needle-to-plate re actor have been presented. The results show that the de corona dischar ge is more efficient in De-NOx process than the pulsed corona discharg e. This is in contrast to the results obtained in the wire-to-cylinder reactors where the pulsed corona discharge removes NOx more efficient ly. The results also lead to the conclusion that in the de streamer co rona discharge the short pulses and long interelectrode distances are recommended in order to increase the NOx conversion rate.
