THE CURRENT ROLE OF ULTRASONOGRAPHY IN BREAST IMAGING

Sonography is a useful adjunct to high quality mammography in selected cases. Despite recent advances in ultrasound technology, the major ro les for sonography of the breast remain the differentiation of cysts f rom solid masses and guidance of interventional procedures. The techni que, indications, strengths, and weaknesses of breast sonography are r eviewed.
