D. Muhlenhoff et B. Budel, COMPARISON OF AQUATIC BRYOPHYTIC AND LICH EN FLORA OF 2 CREEK TYPES (FOREST CREEKS AND MEADOW CREEKS) IN THE SPESSART, Nova Hedwigia, 61(3-4), 1995, pp. 525-545
The aquatic bryophye and lichen flora in 6 creeks (3 flowing through m
eadows and 3 flowing through forests) in the northern part of the Spes
sart (Sandstone) has been studied. The distribution of particular spec
ies is shown in distribution maps. Distribution is compared with the t
ype of creek (meadow or forest creek). A differentiation between moss-
rich shaded creeks and sunny creeks could be shown. The nutrient conte
nt of the water is extremely low. The pH ranges from 4.1 to 7.2. There
were 34 bryophyte species and 8 lichen species found. Verrucaria rhei
trophila and Hymenelia lacustris have not been reported for the Spessa
rt before.
