POLYARTHROPATHY AND CHORIORETINITIS WITH RETINAL-DETACHMENT IN A DOG WITH SYSTEMIC HISTOPLASMOSIS

A three-year-old, male Labrador retriever was presented with depressio n and multiple limb lameness. Systemic histoplasmosis was diagnosed wi th polyatthropathy, chorioretinitis, and a retinal detachment There ar e no prior reports of intra-articular lesions in dogs caused by histop lasmosis, and there are few reports of ocular lesions caused by histop lasmosis in small animals. Treatment with ketoconazole and amphoterici n B did not result in long-term success in this case.
