Abstract
A flow cell was designed to study the oxidation state of copper ions i n Cu-ZSM-5 in situ at high temperatures. In a thoroughly purified He f low or in vacuum there is no spontaneous thermal reduction of the cupr ic ions up to 500 degrees C. The addition of propene to the flow suppr esses the Cu2+ ESR signal even at room temperature.
