The transition frequencies of nS --> nP and nD --> (n + 1)P of Na I at
om series were measured with high accuracy within the 53-350 GHz range
for the main quantum number n = 22 - 32. The more precise values of q
uantum defect for P-1/2,P-3/2 and D-3/2,D-5/2 terms and of LS-splittin
g were determined. The quantum defect constant ensembles, describing t
he energy of the Na I atom for l = 0, 1, 2 and n > 3 were found by the
combained calculations of the Na I transitions in the optical, infrar
ed and microwave regions.
