Abstract
The linear (in the magnetic field) magnetoresistance measured in YBa2C u3Ox crystals in the normal state is explained in terms of the interac tion of current carriers with spin correlations in the CuO2 layer. The temperature dependence of this contribution is compared with the beha vior of the spin correlation function calculated in the two-dimensiona l Heisenberg model. Estimates are obtained for the exchange integral i n the cuprate layer for samples with oxygen content x=6.88 and 6.62. ( C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
