In this work, measures on anxiety of two children groups, one (96) fro
m divorced families and other (97) from intact families have been comp
ared. Anxiety was measured by means of the State-Trait Anxiety Invento
ry for Children's Spanish translation (STAIC) and the children's perce
ptions of divorce were measured by the Children's Beliefs about Parent
al Divorce Scale's Spanish translation(CBPDS). Results indicate that,
although no significant difference has been found in total anxiety mea
sures between the two groups, but anxiety children scores are to be re
lated with some special situations: interparental conflict, parental r
elationship after divorce, and frequency of visits by non custodial pa
rents.
