Abstract
This paper presents a scheme of automatic mesh generation for computin g the local stresses by 2D-viscoplastic boundary element method (BEM) with modified transfinite mapping method. The advanced techniques for mesh spacing and region of transfinite mapping method in BEM are studi ed. The applications demonstrate that the method in BEM gives high com putational efficiency and precise modelling of boundaries. This reduce s the time and effort required of the analyst to set up a nonlinear mo del, the amount of input data required is reduced greatly. The numeric al examples are given in a later section.
