The ferromagnetic metastable bcc 304 stainless steel film was studied
by means of Fe-57 high-pressure Mossbauer spectroscopy. No fee phase w
as observed under the pressure up to 36 kbar. However, the magnetizati
on direction of the sample was found to reorientate under the high-pre
ssure, and showed the strongest tendency to the out-of-plane under the
pressure 8 kbar, then was gradually close to the in-plane with increa
sing pressure.
