Analytic solutions of a particular anisotropic Bianchi type-V cosmolog
ical model with spin matter have been found. In the radiation epoch, w
hen the spin energy is larger than the anisotropic energy (i.e. S-2 -
sigma(2) > 0), the initial singularity can be avoided. We have incorpo
rated the Guth inflationary Universe model into the Einstein-Cartan th
eory of gravitation which is useful for studying cosmological models w
ith some kind of anisotropy. The inflationary solutions depend on the
value of S-2 - sigma(2). When S-2 - sigma(2) < - rho/2, the Universe d
oes not have an inflationary phase. The implications of these solution
s will be discussed in the text. This anisotropic model can also evolv
e to an isotropic one.
