Abstract
Using a technique recently developed by the authors for constructing s olutions of the two-component Kadomtsev-Petviashvilii equations, and o f its real reductions: the Davey-Stewartson I and II equations, in ter ms of the Dirac and the heat equations, a new solution of the Davey-St ewartson I equation is presented. This is a one-parameter deformation of the dromion solution, that is contained in as a particular example. The deformation corresponding to the one-dromion solution is studied in detail. We analyze its asymptotic behaviour, appearing as a nonline ar superposition of the one-dromion with a two-line dark soliton type solution. The one-solitoff degeneration of the one-dromion and its def ormation is studied in a similar fashion. The one-line dark soliton so lution appears as a deformation of the one-solitoff solution.
