P. Armand et al., CORRELATION BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE OF (1-Y)GES2-CENTER-DOT-YAG(2)S GLASSES AND THEIR IONIC-CONDUCTIVITY, Journal of non-crystalline solids, 193, 1995, pp. 330-333
The structural analysis of (1 - y)GeS2 . yAg(2)S ternary glasses has b
een carried out using X-ray absorption spectroscopy, anomalous wide an
gle X-ray scattering and small angle X-ray scattering. All the results
are consistent among themselves, and a combined analysis has provided
straightforward structural conclusions about the homogeneous distribu
tion of the Ag+ cations in the glassy matrix. This improved understand
ing of the local and medium range order has allowed a discussion of th
e validity of the various structural models suggested to explain the i
onic transport process at the atomic level. This process cannot be exp
lained by a phase-separation model but by correlated Ag+ jumps promote
d by their large variety of sites.
