OPTICAL DOUBLE-LOOP FIBER RESONATOR WITH 2 IDENTICAL OR NONIDENTICAL 2X2 FIBER COUPLERS

The first experimental demonstration of a single-mode optical fiber do uble-loop resonator with approximately equal recirculating loop length s and two identical or nonidentical 2x2 fiber couplers is presented. T he theory of the double-loop resonator with nonidentical 2x2 fiber cou plers is developed as well, The dependence of the output intensity on the intensity coupling coefficients of the 2x2 fiber couplers is inves tigated. It is found that the experimental and theoretical results are in fairly good agreement.
