The authors describe a patient with multiple hereditary exostoses - at
tacked metaphysis of the hollow bones, clinical signs of a polyneuropa
thia and status after operation of an adenolymphom at the left glandul
a parotis. Discussed were diagnostic treatments with accentuation on t
he early diagnosis of the malign alterations of the exostoses. A speci
al significance they attached to the role of the bone scintigraphy, so
nography, computertomography and the magnetic-resonance tomography. Th
ere were complications discussed, arising from the pressure of the exo
stoses onto the surrounding soft tissue, especially on the nerve struc
tures.
