Abstract
Supercritical carbon dioxide was found to be a suitable substitute for halogenated organic solvents in its copolymerization with propylene o xide. The system was studied utilizing a heterogenous catalyst, zinc g lutarate. The polymers were analyzed for selectivity in polycarbonate linkages by H-1 NMR spectroscopy and for molecular weight by gel perme ation chromatography.
