The incorporation of vanadium during the hydrothermal synthesis of SAP
O-11 is reported. The sample is characterized by different spectroscop
ic techniques namely XRD, ESR, TPR, UV-VIS and V-51 MAS-NMR. ESR, UV-V
IS and V-51 MAS-NMR studies reveal that vanadium in VAPSO-11 is locate
d in square pyramidal or distorted octahedral structures. Vanadium sho
ws redox behaviour (V4+ to V5+ and vice versa) when calcined and reduc
ed. Samples prepared by impregnation of vanadium into SAPO-11 (V-SAPO-
11) are compared with VAPSO-11.
