H. Yoshida, CREATION OF ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIVE COMPOSITES WITH EMBEDDED TI-NIALLOY AS EFFECTORS, Advanced composite materials, 5(1), 1995, pp. 1-16
Bi-directional environmentally responsive composites composed of Ti-Ni
alloy effecters and Room Temperature Vulcanization resin were created
in order to investigate the temperature response of the materials. Th
ree types of specimens-tension/compression type, flexure type and tors
ion type-were fabricated and tested. Environmental responsiveness was
defined as the responsiveness rate and recovery rate corresponding to
the change of environmental temperatures. Numerical results were satis
factory.
