Abstract
The structure of the title compound, bis(4-amino-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyri midinium) tetrachlorodimethyl- stannate(IV), (C4H6N3O)(2)[SnCl4(CH3)(2 )], consists of discrete C4H6N3O+ (cytosinium) cations and [SnCl4-(CH3 )(2)](2-) anions in which the Sn atom is six-coordinate trans-octahedr al. The crystal packing of the ionic complex is stabilized by intermol ecular N-H ... Cl bonds between the anions and neighbouring cytosinium cations.
