The structure of the title compound, C7H14N3O4+.Cl- (MeGly(3)), is des
cribed and compared to those of other compounds having the diglycyl-gl
ycine moiety, Although the molecular structure of MeGly(3) is similar
to that of the parent acid, its crystal structure is different.MeGly(3
) forms an infinite puckered sheet of hydrogen-bonded molecules relate
d by a screw axis. Each molecule is held in the crystal structure by f
our hydrogen bonds involving NH3+, NH and two CO groups.
