Abstract
The decomposition pressures of KBF4(l), NaBF4(s), K2TiF6(l) and Na2TiF 6(s) have been experimentally determined by the transportation techniq ue. The results were analysed to obtain values for the enthalpies and entropies of vaporization of the salts in question. The vapour pressur es of the sodium salts were found to be significantly higher than thos e of the corresponding potassium salts, which limits their use in the production of aluminium grain-refining alloys.
