Abstract
A ball-lens laser-induced fluorescence detector based on the conventio nal collinear arrangement is described for use with capillary electrop horesis. It allows better mechanical tolerances for capillary adjustme nt in front of the laser beam. Its sensitivity is equal to that of the conventional collinear arrangement. Micellar electrokinetic chromatog raphic determination of biogenic amines in dairy products is described as an application of this detector.
