Phylogenetic analysis of morphological characters provided a hypothesi
s for the origin of the Sundanonchidae within the Tetraonchinea (Dacty
logyridea) as sister group to the Tetraonchidae. Sundanonchus tomanoru
m n. sp. is described and S. micropeltis is reported from the gills of
toman, Channa micropeltes, from Tapah, Perak, Malaysia.
