Fmb. Coutinho et al., COPOLYMERS BASED ON STYRENE AND DIVINYLBENZENE SYNTHESIZED IN THE PRESENCE OF DEPHA .1. STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION, European Polymer Journal, 31(12), 1995, pp. 1243-1250
Styrene-divinylbenzene copolymers were synthesized by suspension polym
erization in the presence of bis-2-diethylhexylphosphoric acid (DEHPA)
and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) as diluents for the monomers. The influ
ence of DEHPA/MEK ratio and dilution degree on the formation of porous
structure of the copolymers was investigated by surface area, pore vo
lume, pore size distribution and apparent density. It was found that 5
0% DEHPA in the diluent mixture always leads to macroporous sorbents w
hatever the MEK content.
