[60]Fullerene is produced by pyrolysis of corannulene between 650 and
1200 degrees C, (either with or without the presence of Pd/C or Co cat
alysts), 7,10-bis(2,2'-dibromovinyl)fluoranthene (a corannulene precur
sor) at 700 degrees C, and of 11, 12-benzonuoranthene at 900 - 1000 de
grees C.
