Abstract
Making improvements in the management of cancer pain is a complex proc ess involving patient and professional factors. This article reviews t he types of outcome measures that have been used to document improveme nt in cancer pain management. Examples from several studies are provid ed to illustrate the difficulty and benefit of documenting evidence of change in professional practice related to cancer pain management.
