Hydatid cyst is a parasitic disease caused by Echinococcus. Although t
he first and most important site for this parasite is the liver, it ca
n be seen in pelvic organs as well. However, primary involvement is ve
ry rare. We report and discuss a case with a primary involvement of th
e uterus which was operated and confirmed by microscopic studies. In c
onclusion, the gynecologist should be aware of the possibility of hyda
tid cyst when a septated cystic mass is found in the pelvis.
