Abstract
The conditions for chain propagation are discussed for low-temperature solid-phase reactions occurring in the absence of translational diffu sion of the reactants. It was shown that the chain length and the geom etry of its propagation related to distribution of the reactants over the lattice points and hot atoms formed in exothermic processes are in volved in chain propagation.
