Abstract
A method for the generation of nitroformonitrile oxide (NFNO) by therm olysis of dinitrofuroxan (DNFO) has been proposed; the formation of NF NO was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and by synthesising cyclic adducts of NFNO with dipolarophiles.
