Abstract
Exumella mediterranean, sp., the first representative of the genus out side the Caribbean region, is described. It is a bottom-living inhabit ant of anchihaline caves on the Balearic Islands and Sardinia (W Medit erranean). It is a raptorial, opportunistic feeder. Main diagnostic ch aracters separating the new taxon and the other species of the genus a re provided by the morphology of the male fifth legs.
