Abstract
Purpose: We determined the characteristics of testicular adenomatoid t umors which could distinguish these lesions from testicular malignanci es. Materials and Methods: Clinical presentation and ultrasonographic findings in 3 men with testicular adenomatoid tumors were compared wit h those in 10 men treated for testicular malignancies. Results: Clinic al presentation was similar for all patients. Of the 3 adenomatoid tum ors 2 appeared isoechoic on ultrasound and 1 appeared normal. None of the 10 cancers appeared isoechoic or normal on ultrasound. Conclusions : Small tumors that appear isoechoic on ultrasound should be biopsied through an inguinal incision with frozen section assessment rather tha n immediate radical orchiectomy.
