Abstract
It has been established in experiments that a rhodium carbonyl catalys t modified with PPh(3) is labile under hydroformylation conditions. An investigation has been made of the influence of certain parameters on the degree of deactivation of a rhodium-phosphine hydroformylation ca talyst. It has been found that the catalyst is deactivated by componen ts of the reaction medium, with the probable formation of polynuclear rhodium phosphide-carbonyl clusters.
