Abstract
We describe a biopsy-confirmed case of acute interstitial nephritis as sociated with the use of loracarbef in an 18-month-old boy, which resu lted in end-stage renal failure. This complication has been documented with the use of beta-lactam antibiotics, and it seems likely the lora carbef was responsible for acute interstitial nephritis in this patien t.
