Ja. Payne et Bp. Pereira, BOND STRENGTH OF 2 NONAQUEOUS ELASTOMERIC IMPRESSION MATERIALS BONDEDTO 2 THERMOPLASTIC RESIN TRAY MATERIALS, The Journal of prosthetic dentistry, 74(6), 1995, pp. 563-568
Investigations indicate that custom impression trays enhance the accur
acy of the fabrication cast. Multiple materials and techniques exist f
or custom tray fabrication, and variability in the bonding strength of
adhesive agents supplied with nonaqueous elastomeric material have be
en reported. Bonding between two nonaqueous impression materials and t
wo thermoplastic resin tray materials was assessed in this study. Stan
dard tensile specimens were fabricated and the combinations of Hydrotr
ay resin (smooth) with Hydrosil impression material recorded the great
est bonding strength, 797 kPa. Adhesion to resin tray materials was fo
und to vary with material type and surface preparation.
