Abstract
A general method for the facile preparation of S-(alkylsulfenyl)cystei nes is described. It employs S-(methoxycarbonylsulfenyl)cysteine hydro chloride [H-Cys(Scm)-OH.HCl] as an easily accessible parent thiol-acti vated cysteine derivative.
