SYNTHESIS OF ORGANOMAGNESIUM COMPLEXES AN D COMPOUNDS IN POLY(CYANO-P-XYLYLENE) MATRIX BY COCONDENSATION OF CYANO-P-XYLYLENE AND MAGNESIUM

Magnesium-containing compounds of poly(cyano-p-xylylene) were synthesi zed by cocondensation of Mg and cyano-p-xylylene accompanied by polyme rization of cocondensate. It was found that the structure of the synth esized compounds depends on the reaction temperature. Cocondensation a t 80 K yields poly(cyano-p-xylylene) containing Mg-C bonds in the back bone chain, whereas donor-acceptor complexes between Mg and electron-a cceptor groups of polymer chains are formed by condensation at 290 - 2 95 K.
