Abstract
The nature of ozone layer depletion and the background leading to inte rnational regulatory controls and eventual elimination of cer rain chl orinated solvents were summarised in Part 1 of the paper published in the August 1995 issue of this journal. The second part provides an ins ight into the consequential problems facing the metal finishing indust ry (particularly with regard to metal degreasing and cleaning precisio n parts) and the options available to it.
