Abstract
In the first part of the paper we prove a decomposition theorem for po sitive definite functions (Theorem 2.3) generalizing a result of de Le euw and Glicksberg. Using this theorem, we then show (Theorem 3.1) tha t certain norm dependent positive definite functions are automatically continuous at every point different from zero.
