PRODUCTION OF CHICK CHIMERAS BY TRANSFERR ING BLASTODERMAL CELLS

Production of chimaeric chickens has been tested by using donor blasto dermal cells of different genetic origin. Blastodermal cells from stag e X embryos were injected into the subgerminal cavity of blastodiscs o f fertilized eggs of recipients - Fl hybrids of two inbred lines of Wh ite Leghorn. The best results have been achieved with blastodermal cel ls of F2 hybrid males (ii, Ee, B/b) X females (ii, Ee, b/) produced fr om hybrids of Fl generation of the first group - K 128 males Minorka ( ii, EE, b/b) X females Shaver (ii, ee, B/-). Using this combination, 2 .66% of chimeric chickens were hatched. Hatchability of chimeric chick ens was 24 hours longer than usually.
