S. Obrien et al., FORMATION OF SILICA-SURFACTANT MESOPHASES STUDIED BY REAL-TIME IN-SITU X-RAY-POWDER DIFFRACTION, Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, (23), 1995, pp. 2423-2424
Real-time in situ energy dispersive synchrotron X-ray powder diffracti
on data provides evidence for the formation of an intermediate lamella
r silica-surfactant intercalate during the synthesis of the hexagonal-
mesophase derived from the layered polysilicate kanemite, whereas no i
ntermediate phases are observed during the formation of the silica-sur
factant mesophase that leads to the mesoporous material MCM-41.
