Zq. Xia et S. Lukasiewicz, EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE-CHANGES ON DAMPING PROPERTIES OF SANDWICH CYLINDRICAL PANELS, International journal of solids and structures, 33(6), 1996, pp. 835-849
The effect of changing temperature on the damping properties of free v
ibrations of sandwich cylindrical panels is studied in this paper. It
is assumed that the material properties of the facings and core of the
sandwich panel studied change with temperature. The effects of the vi
scoelastic damping of the core layer and geometrical non-linearities o
f the vibrating panel have been included in this study. Dissipated ene
rgy is used to investigate the damping. It is found that the rapidly c
hanging temperature strongly affects the vibration responses and dampi
ng properties of the cylindrical sandwich panels.
