M. Letonqueze et al., ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID ANTIBODIES PARTLY ACCOUNT FOR ANTIENDOTHELIAL CELL REACTIVITY, Nouvelle revue francaise d'hematologie, 37, 1995, pp. 61-64
Anti-endothelial cell reactivity is partly due to anticardiolipin anti
bodies (aCLA) since: 1) the two types of antibody are present in patie
nts with connective tissue diseases and CL-binding monoclonal antibodi
es bind to endothelial cell; 2) anionic phospholipids are detectable i
n the outer face of the EC membrane lipid bilayer and an anti-beta(2)-
glycoprotein I (beta(2)-GPI) monoclonal antibody recognizes EC and 3)
the binding of aCLA to EC and its functional affinity are dependent on
the presence of beta(2)-GPI.
