Abstract
The type I CaM-sensitive adenylyl cyclase is in a position to integrat e signals from multiple inputs, consistent with the requirements for m ediating long term potentiation (LTP). Biochemical and genetic evidenc e supports the idea that this enzyme plays an important role in LTP. H owever, more work is needed before we will be certain of the role that CaM-sensitive adenylyl cyclases play in LTP.
