Abstract
The synthesis and structural characterization. of the lithium salts {L iN(SiMe(3))(2)MMe(3)}(infinity) (M = Al (1), Ga (2)) are described. Th e compounds are essentially isostructural and are associated into infi nite chains that involve bridging by the lithium ion to an aluminum or gallium methyl group of a neighboring molecule.
