Abstract
A cationic intramolecular base-stabilized silyleneiron complex, (eta-C
5H5)Fe(CO)(2)=SiMe{2-(Me(2)NCH(2))C6H4}]PF6, was synthesized by hydrid
e abstraction from the (hydrosilyl)iron complex (eta-C5H5)Fe(CO)(2)SiH
Me{2-(Me(2)NCH(2))C6H4} with Ph(3)CPF(6). Reaction of the silylene com
plex with MeOH afforded the methoxysilyl complex eta-C5H5)Fe(CO)(2)SiM
eOMe{2(Me(2)N(H)CH2)C6H4}]PF6 in good yield. The molecular structures
of the silylene and methoxysilyl complexes were determined by X-ray cr
ystal structure analysis.
