Abstract
The radiological properties of the three titanium alloys Ti-6Al-4V, Ti -5Al-2.4Sn and Ti-5Zr-2.4Sn were investigated by calculating their act ivation with the computer programs FISPACT and PCROSS. The results sho w that the advantage of the low long-term activation of titanium is ne gated by the activation of main alloying elements like aluminum or tin . In addition, the problem of hydrogen embrittlement will be enhanced by the formation of hydrogen through neutron-induced nuclear reactions . The results are discussed.
