Abstract
A versatile, spectroscopy analysis engine has been developed by using object-oriented design and analysis techniques coupled with an object- oriented language, C++. This engine provides the spectroscopist with t he choice of several different peak shape models that are tailored to the type of spectroscopy being performed. It also allows ease of devel opment in adapting the engine to other analytical methods requiring mo re complex peak fitting in the future. This results in a program that can currently be used across a wide range of spectroscopy applications and anticipates inclusion of future advances in the field.
