Abstract
The synthesis of 2-(3-pyrrole-1-yl-propylimino-methyl)-phenol (LH) and its cobalt complex (CoL(2)) are described. Electrochemical oxidation of CoL(2) in acetonitrile produces a conducting polymeric film at the electrode surface. The polymer films are catalytically active in the e lectroreduction of both oxygen and CO2. In the case of oxygen both the electrocatalytic activity of the electropolymerized films and the pre dominant product were dependent on the surface coverage.
