A preliminary study of the valence band structure of the ternary chalc
opyrite compound CdGeAs2 along the GAMMA-N direction has been carried
out by means of normal-emission angle-resolved photoemission spectrosc
opy (ARPES). Synchrotron light from the Super ACO storage ring in the
16 to 25 eV range was used as excitation source. Our experiments are c
ompared to empirical pseudopotential method (EPM) calculations showing
a good agreement.
